This Dog Is So Loved, He Gets His Own Electric Rolls-Royce
Finished in yellow lab gold and personalized with pawprints, the Spectre Bailey is a one-off build celebrating the owner's favorite canine.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre Bailey is a bespoke commission inspired by a golden retriever-labrador mix.
• The woodwork portrait in the back uses 180 pieces of veneer, and the two-tone paint is meant to invoke the shine of golden fur.
• Bailey's pawprint is used as a design element on the sills and quarter panels.
A bespoke automobile based on the C/D staff's dogs would be painted the dark maroon of a stolen steak, with an interior that perfectly matches whatever horrible thing they rolled in out in the woods—and a lot of air fresheners.
There's no way the clients who commissioned Rolls-Royce's latest one-off design love their dog more than we love ours, but they did buy him a much nicer car. Rolls-Royce was a trendsetter in offering unique personalization of its automobiles, and we've seen Rolls models with embroidered falcons across the headliner, tiger-orange exteriors, and now, an electric Spectre with the cheery enthusiasm of a duck-hunting retriever.
